les demoiselles de rochefort

Obscure films, how I love you so.

I really failed to capture how beautiful these two ladies are, and how dreamy and vibrant the film looks...but I think it turned out kinda cool anyway.

The girls look pretty! I love their hats and hair but I love the guys in the background the most! Nice work.

If you like this movie you will LOVE this one: "Les parapluies de Cherbourg" from 1964. It is also a musical and it is simply heartbreaking! To be honest - I cried a little tear even though I did not understand a word of what they were singing. "It is shot in saturated supercolour, with every tiny detail — neck-ties, wallpaper, even Catherine Deneuve's bleach-blonde hair — selected for maximum visual impact."
By the way - great painting! Much better with their mouth shut ;)

lovely illustration. You catch the charm completely from the film of Jacques Demy.
