It's right HERE on Amazon! I illustrated this book last spring for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, which is coming out pretty soon...
I thought I'd just share some pages, since it's been released into the world already. These don't have any text (although you can obviously spot where the text belongs), and also the book doesn't exactly look like this, since it's a fancy 3-D book that comes with fancy little 3-D glasses. The effect is actually pretty neat.
Drawing food is a tedious affair. It really forces you respect the little glinty grease bits on a pizza or the texture of scooped ice cream when you are required to duplicate it...
These aren't all the pages, they're just the best ones (as far as I'm concerned).
I watched "The Lady Vanishes" while doing this page. Now when I look at it I think about terribly upright English people on trains.
Yay! I bought a copy at Borders and it was right next to my buddy Christian's book on the rack. Small world!

GAH! This is fantastic!! That was one of my favorite books as a child and I can see that this version is sure to be a lifelong favorite for a new generation. Awesome job!!

Looks great! Congratulations!
Congrats, Brigette! I remember when you were a WRITING major at CSSSA. Now look at you, a terrific illustrator. That's what I call the full package.
Thanks everyone for you kind kudos!
Kristen: I think that the bacon-drainpipe thing is actually in the movie...it was in the manuscript that they gave me for the book, anyway. :)
Austin: I know! I still looooove writing a lot. I might actually be writing & illustrating my own book soon (cross your fingers, knock on wood, wish on a penny) so perhaps my two specialties will really come together then!
congratulations! you did a wonderful job and should be proud of yourself
Looks great! I love all of em and cant wait to see the whole thing :) Great work!
these are gorgeous. Great work Brigette
These pages look great!!! Nice effect with the meatball storm. And congratulations!
Thanks so much everyone...I almost didn't post these, thinking that no one would want to see my silly meatball book, but now I'm glad I did. I kept being reminded of it by all the movie posters around town!
This looks great! Is the text the same as the original or is it based on the screenplay for the new film?
Will: It's based on the new movie. All the character designs and props are directly from the new movie, too. One of the cool things about doing this was that I got a big fat sneak peek at the art for the film, which was pretty exciting for me.
This is awesome. Congrats! That's exciting. i can't wait to see this movie!
I can't say it but in my own language: Olé!

I love the trend of animation artists working on the kids' book version of the movies. Looks great-- Congrats!
